The COTR Avalanche win GOLD for the first time
For the first time in their school history the COTR Avalanche are Provincial champs with a thrilling come from behind five set win over the #1 VIU Mariners.
The Avalanche were down 2-0 heading into the third set and battled hard to win 25-22, led by outstanding passing. After winning the fourth set 25-20, it set the table for an unbelievable fifth and deciding set which the Avs took 15-10 to win GOLD.
Five players had at least 10 kills led by tournament MVP Kelsey Thompson. Alexa Koshman was the difference maker with 26 digs calmly leading her team.
Tylar Turnbull was named the VIU Player of the Match in a losing cause.
Both the Avalanche and Mariners will represent the PACWEST at the 2016 CCAA nationals in PEI.
