Opened in April 2001, Columbia Place has quickly become one of the premier indoor athletics facilities in the Fraser Valley. Featuring two full-sized collegiate courts, seating for about 1000 fans, a Fitness Centre, change rooms, Athletic Therapy room, team rooms, and administrative offices, Columbia Place is an ideal facility for athletic competition. Some notable events include international basketball and volleyball games, numerous PACWEST conference games, several Provincial and Regional Championships, and the 2012 CCAA Men’s Volleyball National Championships.
Columbia Bible College is proud to be a member of the PACWEST and the CCAA. We are confident that we will be able to present an outstanding championship for the student-athletes, the coaches and support staff, the PACWEST, and basketball fans across British Columbia.

3. ACCOMMODATIONS
The tournament hotel for the 2015-16 PACWEST Volleyball Provincial Championships is the BEST WESTERN Regency Inn & Conference Centre.

4 HOSPITALITY
Coaches & Officials Lounges – Throughout the tournament there will be two lounges available, a coaches lounge and an officials lounge. These spaces will provide coaches and officials the opportunity to relax between games. Refreshment and snacks will be provided.
Meals - Columbia Bible College has a cafeteria that offers lunch and dinner just a short walking distance from the gym. There are also a number or restaurants within a short drive of the campus.
Concession - A simple concession will be operating in the foyer of Columbia Place for the duration of the tournament. The concession will include various snacks (candy, candy bars, popcorn, & chips) and beverages (water, Power Aide, & soda).
5 MEDIA & PROMOTION
Pre-Tournament
The championships will be promoted by various means. Tournament posters will be sent to all PACWEST volleyball schools, various schools in the Fraser Valley, as well as various other locations within Abbotsford. The championships will also be advertised and featured by the media in Abbotsford as well as on social media.
During Tournament
Our main gym office will be used as the media center during the tournament. A printer and fax machine will be available. A results board will also be located in the gym foyer.
During the event, daily press releases will be posted on the tournament website as well as on all relevant social media platforms. Results will also be sent to the local media.
All games will be webcast on Sports Canada TV at http://sportscanada.tv/

Post-Tournament
A press release of final results will be displayed on the tournament website, promoted via social media, and distributed to media, PACWEST schools and community interests.

7 PROTOCOL
Practice Times
Team interested in a Wednesday practice slot will receive 45 minutes on the featured court at Columbia Place. The practice schedule will be developed according to team arrival times and specific team requests. Every effort will be made to ensure that each teams’ needs are met. Please contact Matt Kaminski at matt.kaminski@columbiabc.eduby Monday, February 22nd, 2016 with your requested practice times (please provide two choices). The Final Practice Schedule will be sent to all participating institutions no later than Tuesday, February 23rd, 2016.

Awards
- PACWEST League all-stars, coach of the year, player of the year, and rookie of the year awards will be presented prior to the start of team’s first game. Athletes and coaches will be ushered to center court to receive their award and photo.
- Player of the game awards will be presented to 1 player from each team, for all games, immediately following each game. Athletes will be ushered to center court to receive their award.
- The bronze medal presentations will take place after each respective bronze medal game.
- The following awards will be handed out after each respective gold medal game:
- Tournament all-stars (6)
- Tournament MVP (1)
- Silver Medals
- Gold Medals
- Championship banner/trophy
Game Protocol
All games will open with the National Anthem, and will be announced, including starting line-up introductions, by an experienced announcer.
Coaches Conference Call
The Coaches Conference Call will take place on Monday, February 22nd at 7:00pm. All teams are required to have a representative present on the call. The number to call and an agenda will be circulated one week prior to the call on Monday, February 15th.
8 TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Athletic Therapy
A therapy room will be open and available for use during the tournament. The room is equipped with taping tables (2) and ice. Please supply your own medical supplies.
** Still currently working on arranging on-site Physiotherapy staff.
Team Rooms
All teams will have access to a change room before and after each match. Men’s and women’s locker rooms are located just off of the gym. The assigned rooms will be marked with team name and logo. Each room is equipped with a white board. Teams are to supply their own dry-erase pens & erasers.
Uniforms
The higher seeded team for each game will be designated as the HOME team and will wear light colored uniforms. Therefore, the lower seeded team for each game will be designated as the AWAY team and will wear dark colored uniforms. All teams must bring a light and dark set of uniforms to the Championships. Uniform colors will be confirmed at the Coaches’ Meeting.
Minor Officials
All games will be supported by an experienced minor official crew.
Game Film
All games will be recorded by athletic department staff. Participating teams will each receive a digital copy after their game(s). Coaches MUST supply their own USB stick if they wish to receive game film. Games will also be uploaded to Krossover ASAP.
Grievance/Protest Committee
As per the PACWEST policy; the head official (Trent Erickson), PACWEST Volleyball Convenors or designate (Shayne Hyde | Drew Venables), and a PACWEST Executive Committee member will comprise the committee. A copy of the Grievance/Protest procedures will be provided at the Coaches’ Meeting.
9 GENERAL INFORMATION
Laundry Services
Laundry service is available upon request for uniforms needed later in the tournament. Uniforms must be dropped off the day previous.
Towel Service
Team towel service will be provided. Only team staff can make arrangements for this service. Please have a team manager or coach come to the front desk of the gym to receive towels. Please return the towels to the front desk when finished. Please do not leave them in the change room.
Parking
Not only does Columbia Bible College have ample parking available on-site, but parking is FREE. Teams will not require parking passes.
Internet Access
To connect to guest wifi, please do the following:

Photos will be taken throughout the tournament by Bearcats photographer, Leslie Miller. Following each game, photos will be uploaded to Flicker for athletes, and fans to access.
