Avalanche Comeback Win
It was a four set classic as the Avalanche punch their ticket to the semis
The first ever men’s playoff meeting between the COTR Avalanche and UFV Cascades did not disappoint with close sets, huge kills and big comebacks. When the dust settled the #5 Avalanche are headed to the semis with a four set victory over the #4 Cascades.
Down 24-19 in the fourth set the Avalanche stormed back to win the set and the match 26-24, punching their ticket to the semi where they will face the Camosun Chargers.
Patrik Toze was outstanding in this quarterfinal. The PACWEST Rookie of the Year collected eight kills and eight digs and was named the Player of the Match for the Avalanche and Julio Lins chipped with 10 kills and Zach Fedechko was a key contributor from the service line and tallied seven kills.
Adam Chaplin of the Cascades played his final collegiate volleyball game and was named the Player of the Match, keeping his club in it time and time again.
The Avalanche recorded wins of 25-23, 16-25, 25-23 and 26-24.
