The Bearcats and Falcons meet in the playoffs for the first time in PACWEST history
#4 CBC Bearcats vs. #5 Langara Falcons – Thursday February 27, 3:00pm | WATCH HERE
The men’s side of the bracket at the PACWEST basketball championship will see the Bearcats and Falcons square off for the first time ever in the post season.
Just two points separate them in the standings so this should be a very tight quarterfinal. They met four times during the regular season and the Bearcats won three of them, with all four finals by 10 points or less. The Falcons only victory came in their last meeting on January 25th.
Coming into the playoffs, the Bearcats had a bye week and had a solid month of February winning four of their five games. They should be well rested as they prepare for the Falcons looking for their first playoff victory since 2008 when they beat Malaspina in a quarterfinal.
During the regular season the Bearcats averaged over 77 points a game and shot 38% from the field. D’Andre Palmer-Ormsby led his club with 14.1 points a game.
The Falcons snapped their four-game losing streak in their final game of the season when they upset the top ranked VIU Mariners with a two-point win. They shot 42% on the campaign and averaged over 78 points a game led by Cameron Vaughn and his 17.2 points per game. Their last playoff win was last year in this same quarterfinal.
The winner advances to the semi-final where they will meet the top ranked VIU Mariners on Friday.
