Event Information

 

On behalf of the PACWEST, it is our pleasure to welcome you to the 2025 PACWEST Provincial Basketball Championships hosted at Capilano University.
Please take a few moments to review the Information Package. It will assist you in planning your participation in the championship. If you have any questions or require further information, please contact us as soon as possible.

Capilano University is named after Chief Joe Capilano, an important leader of the Squamish (Sḵwx̱wú7mesh) Nation of the Coast Salish people. We respectfully acknowledge that our campuses are located on the territories of the Lil’wat, Musqueam, Sechelt (shíshálh), Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh Nations.

All personnel acting in a media capacity must be accredited and/or employed by the PACWEST. Drones, digital SLR cameras and any professional or commercial video or photography equipment are prohibited inside the facility without approved media accreditation. Personal use point and shoot cameras are allowed; however, no flash photography is permitted once the game has started. For the safety of our athletes and officials, only accredited media and PACWEST photographers are permitted to access the floor and use professional cameras inside the venue.

Pay parking is in effect 24 hours a day, seven days a week including weekends and statutory holidays. All vehicles on campus must pay for parking and park only in designated parking stalls.

The administration and operation of pay parking, including permit sales, equipment, enforcement and towing is contracted to Indigo (formerly WestPark). The campus parking fees, rules and regulations are established by the University.
 
Capilano University's North Vancouver campus is divided into two payment zones, plus two parking lots designated for short-term stays.
 
Each payment zone is comprised of general parking in addition to other designations for registered carpool groups, accessible parking for persons with a disability, guests (with "G" permit only), 15-minute loading zones, security and sales representatives and reserved for special decal (employee).

** 25-minute warm-ups (minimum) will be allotted on court before each game **

 

Security personnel and event staff will be present at the door/gates to watch all participants and spectators. Appropriate conduct, in general, include showing appreciation for plays made by either competing team, and showing respect for both teams and officials. Violence or harassment in all forms, including signage, will lead to ejection for the remainder of the championships. Spectators may not enter the game court or encroach on the sidelines. The following are not permitted in the gymnasium:
 
  • Air horns
  • Alcohol
  • Animals (except guide animals)
  • Balloons
  • Glass containers
  • Weapons of any kind
  • Smoking of any substance (including vaping)
  • Professional digital SLR cameras
  • Signage that does not honour the code of conduct as written above

Concession - A general concession service will be available in the CSW throughout the tournament.

Food Services – During normal campus hours on Thursday and Friday, food services are available at the campus cafeteria, Tim Hortons, and Subway. They are all located on the first floor of the Birch Building. No food services are available on campus on Saturday, March 1, 2025.
