Event Information
On behalf of the Organizing Committee, welcome to the 2019 PACWEST Basketball Championships, hosted by Douglas College. Located in the Downtown New Westminster, the New West Campus is home to the Royals basketball programs. Douglas College is situated on the unceded traditional territories of the Coast Salish Peoples of the QayQayt (New Westminster Campus} and Kwikwetlm (Coquitlam Campus} First Nations.
We look forward to having you as our guest and hosting our PACWEST member institutions. Good luck to all of the participants at the Championships.

VIP Lounge
The VIP Lounge will located on the Mezzanine level of the gymnasium from noon to 9:30pm each day of the tournament. Access will be provided to Athletics Directors, Coaches staff, Officials and accredited VIP guests throughout the tournament.
Concession
A general concession services will be available in the gymnasium throughout the tournament.
Food Services
During normal campus hours, food services are available at the campus cafeteria and Tim Horton’s located on the second floor.

During Tournament
During the event, daily press releases will be posted on the tournament website as well as on all relevant social media platforms. Results will also be sent to the local media.

Post-Tournament
Final results will be displayed on the tournament website, promoted via social media, and distributed to media.
Admission to Games
Coaches, Managers, and Team Officials will receive VIP Passes. All others are expected to pay. Athletes participating in the tournament are granted access to all matches free of charge. Please remind your athletes to wear team gear for easier identification at the door.

Practice Times
Practice times will be available on February 27th - March 2nd at Douglas College. Please see schedule below for details.
- As per PACWEST Operations Manual, #1 seeds and #2 seeds will not be scheduled for practice times on Wednesday, February 27th.
- Teams are eligible for one practice time only each day.
- Teams cannot “give” their practice time to another team. However, two teams can request from the Organizing Committee to exchange their practice times.
- Teams are expected to provide their own Athletic Therapist and supplies during practice times. We kindly ask teams to clean up after your practice times.
- Please email Mark Slota at slotam@douglascollege.ca by noon on Tuesday, February 20th, 2019 with your requested practice time for Wednesday, February 27th.
- The final practice schedule will be sent out to all participating schools no later than Friday, February 22nd, 2019.

Awards
PACWEST League All-Stars, Defensive Player of the Year, Coach of the Year, and Rookie of the Year awards will be presented prior to the start of the team’s first game.
Player of the Game awards will be presented to one (1) player from each team at the end of the games.
Medal presentations will take place after each Bronze Medal Games and Gold Medal Games. The following awards will be presented after the Gold Medal Games:

Athletic Therapy
A Certified Athletic Therapist on site during the tournament games. Athletics Therapy tents will be available by team benches and in the designated official tournament AT area (TBA) for use during the tournament. Taping services by Douglas College Student ATs may be available by request, however times will be subject to availability. Teams are required to supply your own medical supplies. i.e. Tapes, spray, foam, etc.
Emergency Action Plan (EAP)
The College’s EAP will be discussed with each team’s designated Medical/AT personnel prior to competition.

Team Rooms
All teams will have access to a change room before and after each game (N1313, N1119, N1220, and N1222). The assigned rooms will be marked with team names/logos. Teams will have access to their assigned room one (1) hour prior to their game. Teams must remove belongings from the room.
Uniforms
The higher team for each game will be designated as the HOME team and will wear the light colored (white preferably) uniforms, and the lower seed will wear the darker colored uniforms.
Game Video
All games will be recorded. Coaches must supply their own USB stick to receive a copy of the game. Please note that games will also be uploaded to Krossover.
Game Stats
Statistics will be provided at half time and at the end of the game to each team.
Grievance/Protest Committee
As per the PACWEST policy; the head official, PACWEST Executive, Tournament Committee, Convenors or designate will make up the committee. A copy of the Grievance/Protest procedures will be provided at the Coaches’ Meeting.
Coaches Conference Call
The Coaches Conference Call will take place on Monday, February 25th at 7pm. All teams are required to have a representative present on the call. The number to call and agenda will be circulated one week prior to the call set a date.
Laundry Services
Laundry service will be available to the teams that advance from Thursday games at no charge. Please provide a machine washable laundry bag with uniforms only (under garments, braces, compression clothing should not be included) to N1303 located outside the gymnasium entrance at the conclusion of your game.
Towel Service
Team towel service will not be provided.
Parking
Underground parking is available at the New West Campus. Daily parking charges will apply. Parking for larger vehicle ie. Charter buses, 24 passengers, etc. is available upon request. Please contact Mark Slota, Tournament Director for more information. Email: slotam@douglascollege.ca
