Bronzed Royals

The Douglas Royals are PACWEST bronze medalists after a 77-67 victory over the VIU Mariners on Saturday after noon.

The Royals used a 28 point second quarter and never looked back shooting 33% from the field. They also hit six-three pointers in at critical times led by Simran Bir who connected on three of them and finished with 12 points. Offensively they had six players hit the double-digit mark. Sarah Jorgenson in her final game was named player of the game with 14 points, seven rebounds and three assists. Rachel Beauchamp finished with 13 points and 13 rebounds and Amber Beasley chipped in with 12 points.

The Mariners played with passion in front of the home town crowd. Emma Platner finished with a game high 19 points while Danielle Vanbergen connected for 13. As a team they shot 31% from the field. Shayce Johnson was named their player of the game.
