Charging Into Semis
On the strength of a 22 point second quarter the Camosun Chargers move into the semi-finals
After a 22 point second quarter the Camosun Chargers are moving onto the women’s PACWEST semi-final with a 73-57 victory over the CBC Bearcats.
The Chargers had balanced scoring with nine players hitting the scoresheet and five of them hitting double-digits. Tessa Lannon-Paakspuu was outstanding with 11 points and 11 rebounds, eight of which were offensive. She was named the player of the game. Ella Goldschmid was solid with 13 points while Aija Salvador dropped 12 points on four-three pointers. As a team they shot 34% from the field.
For the Bearcats it was their first ever playoff experience and played well for three of the four quarters. Sarah Rozendal led all scorers with 17 points and Harvina Kaler added 16 tough points. In all they shot 38.6% from the field. Anna Kamerman was named their player of the game with nine points and seven rebounds.
On Friday the Chargers will face the top seeded Douglas Royals in the semi-final.
