The men’s basketball Athlete of the Month began in 1993–94 and went on until 2013-14. For the 1993-94 & 1994-95 season, only 1 male basketball player across the country was awarded the Athlete of the Month. From 1995-96 to 2013-14, each conference received their own CCAA Athlete of the Month.
This award was usually awarded February of the playing season
All the Athlete of the Months across all sports were eventually replaced with a new award called the CCAA Athlete of the Week that began in 2015-16
