Bearcats earn second victory of the season
The CBC Bearcats were back at Columbia Place this weekend as they hosted the Capilano Blues in PACWEST action. Both teams were coming off loses last weekend and both teams were eager to get back in the win column.
The Cats were still mathematically alive in the last playoff spot would would need to string a weekend sweep if they had any hopes of catching the Blues in the stanidngs. Friday night, the Cats kept their hopes alive as they defeated the Blues 3-2.
"In the second win of the year for this young squad, we produced an all-around performance in our 5 set victory over the Capilano Blues." commented Cats head coach Jason Warketin. The team passed a 2.12 (Led by Ryan Newman at 2.23), hit an efficiency of .307 and produced 9 aces, 12 blocks and 27 digs.
"It was great to see the team stick with our game plan and be rewarded for some consistent play." continued Warkentin.
Both teams return to action tomorrow aftenoon.
