The PACWEST champion Mariners looked to be in the driver seat during their quarterfinal on Wednesday, but a complete let down in the fourth quarter was their undoing getting outscored 23-4 in final frame and lost 70-69.
They will look to bounce back on Thursday when they meet the RSEQ champion Vanier Cheetahs. In their loss on Wednesday they shot 37% led by Adam Anhold and his 17 points and 15 rebounds and Kai Leighton chipped in with 16 points.
Speaking of the Cheetahs, they got blasted by the host team Mount Allison Mounties 73-53 on Wednesday. They were cold shooting 29% and a dismal 1-22 from the three-point line. Their main source of points comes from Liam Ngos who collected 16 yesterday.
The Mariners must win to keep their medal hopes alive. The winner advances to the bronze medal semi-final while the loser plays in the Placement Game.
