Four student athletes were honoured following the CCAA national basketball championships
Following the CCAA national basketball championships four PACWEST athletes were honoured with tournament awards.
On the men’s side the Camosun Chargers finished fourth and had three athletes win awards. Lucas Sheets (pictured) was named a First-Team All-Star shooting 44% during the tournament and scored 37 points and snagged 14 rebounds. Teammate Jesse Vogel was named a tournament Second-Team All-Star connecting on 37% from the field and dropped in 10 points a game.
Point guard Jaime Palamos-Molins showed his leadership on the floor as the CCAA named him with the Exemplary Leadership Award.
On the women’s side the Douglas Royals finished seventh in the tournament but one player stood out in a leadership role. Forward Jettie McLaughlin-Sakaki was outstanding and received the CCAA’s Exemplary Leadership Award.
