The Royals host the Mariners and the Falcons entertain the Blues

For the second time in as many weeks the Royals and Mariners will face-off on Sunday afternoon, but this time in Coquitlam. Last weekend the Royals blanked the Mariners 1-0 on the strength of Amanda Hila’s first goal of the season. Keeper Elisha Machado stood tall making seven saves to preserve the shutout.
On Saturday the Royals fell 3-0 at Capilano suffering their first loss of the season. The Mariners meanwhile played to a 2-2 tie with the Langara Falcons on Saturday afternoon. Cara Dunlop scored both goals for the Mariners who are now winless in three straight games.

Last weekend the Blues shutout the Falcons 2-0 in their only other meeting this season. Aynsley Hurtado and Taylor Colby scored first half goals on route to the victory. Keeper Sabrina Lam earned the shutout but didn’t actually make a single save.
On Saturday the Blues continued their hot play winning their third straight with a 3-0 shutout over the visiting Douglas Royals. Claire Ye scored her third of the season that would hold up as the game winner. Alanah Dulong and Kayla Campbell added insurance markers and Lam made three saves for her second clean sheet this year.
The Falcons meanwhile picked up their first point with a 2-2 tie against the defending champion VIU Mariners. Nadia Bigiolli and Rachel Barker each scored a second half goal as the Falcons battled back after being down early 2-0. Keeper Alyssa Narayan was busy making eight saves.

For the second time this season the Mariners and Royals will battle after last weekend’s tilt that saw the top ranked Mariners win 3-2 with three unanswered markers by three different goal scorers.
On Saturday the Mariners got a scare from the Langara Falcons and got a late second half goal to finish in a 1-1 tie. Taylor Arbour scored in the 68th minute to tie the game and keeper Ben Chamberlin had to be sharp making seven saves to preserve their single point.
The Royals on the other hand won their second straight with a 2-0 victory over the Capilano Blues on Saturday. They used a pair of first half goals from Yianni Siafakas and saw a two-save shutout from Justin Bint to pace them to the win. Siafakas takes over the Conference scoring race with his fourth and fifth goals of the season.

Both the Blues and Falcons are looking for their first win of the weekend when they match-up on Sunday. In their first meeting last weekend the Blues got two goals from Jeremy Monn-Djasngar on route to a 3-1 victory.
On Saturday the Falcons stole a point from the top ranked VIU Mariners in a 1-1 tie. Takumi Ota tallied his first of the season and keeper Aleks Kalajdzic made three saves in the game.
The Blues meanwhile were blanked by the Douglas Royals for the first time this season on Saturday and now have lost two straight. They did manage seven shots, but couldn’t find the back of the net.
