The VIU Mariners won CCAA bronze on Saturday with a four-set win over the RSEQ champion Elans de Garneau.
It was the Quebec champs that took the early lead winning the opening set 25-21, but the Mariners turned it on.
They would even the match with a second set win of 25-22 and carry that momentum into the last two sets winning 25-20 and 25-16. Setter Keira Crellin was brilliant running the offence with 42 assists and a balanced attack with seven different players recording at least a kill. Aimee Skinner in her final match as a Mariner led the way with 13 kills and two aces, Regan Ingram had 10 kills, and 12 digs and Player of the Match Grace Brisebois added nine kills.
