After having their nine-match winning streak snapped on Friday night, the Blues bounced back with a straight set win over the visiting Bearcats on Saturday.
The first set needed extra points as both teams pushed for the advantage. In the end the Blues captured a 29-27 victory before carrying that momentum the rest of the way winning the next two sets 25-19 and 25-23.
With the win the Blues (12-6) extend their lead for the second seed, now ahead of the idle Camosun Chargers by four points. They will host the VIU Mariners (17-1) next weekend to conclude the regular season. Despite the loss the Bearcats (6-12) hold on the final playoff spot heading into next weekend when they host the Chargers (10-8).
