Mariners Sweep Avalanche

The first place VIU Mariners swept the gym floor with the visiting COTR Avalanche

The PACWEST Week 11 women’s volleyball schedule opened on a rare Thursday night which didn’t seem to bother the top ranked VIU Mariners.  They captured their 12th consecutive victory and ninth three-set sweep.

They made quick work of the visiting Avalanche winning 25-14, 25-20 and 25-19.

The setback is damaging for the Avalanche (4-11) who fall for the fourth straight match and fail to gain ground in the playoff hunt chasing the idle Douglas Royals and CBC Bearcats.

Friday night the Mariners (14-1) entertain the Avalanche in the rematch and for the final time this season at 6:00pm.  WATCH HERE
