Women's Week 10 Volleyball Preview

Camosun Chargers @ Capilano Blues – Friday January 24, 6:00pm | WATCH HERE

This is a potential playoff preview when the Blues host the Chargers for a weekend doubleheader.  Just two points separates them in the standings with six matches left in the regular season.

The Blues (9-5) have been on a roll winning their last seven and find themselves on their home floor for the remainer of the regular season, where they are currently undefeated.   They meet a Chargers team that swept them in back-to-back four-set matches at the beginning of the season at Camosun.

Where the Blues have been rolling, the Chargers (8-6) have slipped since the holiday break winning once in their last four matches.  They are 3-3 on the road this year and will try and find the momentum they enjoyed in October when they beat the Blues in two straight.

If the schedule ended this weekend these two would meet in a semi-final at the PACWEST championship tournament.

They will meet again on Saturday at 1:00pm in their final meeting of the regular season.

Douglas Royals @ CBC Bearcats – Friday January 24, 6:00pm | WATCH HERE

This is a massive weekend for both these schools as they battle for the final playoff spot in the standings.  They have identical records and join the idle COTR Avalanche each vying for the post season.

The Royals (4-10) currently sit in the driver’s seat holding the tiebreaker over the Bearcats (4-10) when they swept them at the beginning of the year.  If they can secure one win this weekend that will move them even closer to securing the final spot.  They have stumbled since the holiday break with one win in their last four matches.

On the other side of the net, the Bearcats need to win both matches this weekend to move up the standings and ahead of the Royals.  Like their opposition this week, they have just one win in their last four matches.

These schools will meet for the final time this season on Saturday at 5:00pm.
