Women's Week 12 Volleyball Preview
The regular season wraps up this weekend
Camosun Chargers @ Douglas Royals – Friday February 16, 6:00pm | WATCH HERE
A possible playoff match up as the Royals host the Chargers this weekend to conclude the regular season.
The Royals are well rested following a bye last weekend and have clinched second place in the standings. They will host the PACWEST championship beginning next week and will face the #3 seed which is yet to be determined, but could be the Chargers.
They have won four in a row and six of their last eight since the calendar turned to the second semester. Friday and Saturday, they will look to continue that momentum against the Chargers who they were swept by in late November, losing in four sets on both days.
The Chargers will try and draw from that experience in November as they visit the Royals. They are still fighting to clinch a playoff spot, currently tied with Capilano for third, and only two points up on the CBC Bearcats for the final spot.
They have struggled in the second half winning twice in eight matches since the second semester opened. A win on Friday night would clinch them a spot in the post season.

Capilano Blues @ COTR Avalanche – Friday February 16, 6:00pm (MST) | WATCH HERE
The Blues are trying to clinch a berth in the post season as they head to COTR to play the Avalanche.
They are currently in a third-place tie with Camosun and two points up on the CBC Bearcats who are on the outside looking in. The Blues have lost four in a row and will look to punch their ticket to the playoffs and gain some momentum while doing it. They’ve had their struggles on the road at 2-6 but that will all but forgotten with a good showing against the Avalanche.
In November the Blues swept the Avalanche at Capilano, winning in three sets and four sets respectively.
The Avalanche can play spoiler to the Blues playoff push as they host their final two matches of the season. They have struggled in the second half winning twice in eight tries and have been swept in five of those losses.

CBC Bearcats @ VIU Mariners – Friday February 16, 6:00pm | WATCH HERE
The top ranked Mariners have won 13-straight matches and will host a Bearcats team fighting for their playoff lives as the regular season concludes.
The Mariners are coming off back-to-back sweeps of the visiting Blues last weekend and comfortably sit in first place in the standings and are ranked #2 across the CCAA.
They beat the Bearcats in four sets during their first meeting, then had to comeback the next day and win the fourth and fifth sets to claim victory. They have only played in two other decisive fifth sets this season, which they also won. This match-up could be a playoff preview, but the Bearcats would need to sweep the Mariners, or at least win one and get some help from the other teams to clinch.
Speaking of the Bearcats, their season is on the line this weekend. They have won two of their last three and will need to pull off a major upset to have a shot and the playoffs. They have played better as of late earning a sweep last weekend at Camosun which has put them into a position for a potential playoff berth.
