Friday Night Spike Night
Two matches are set for women's PACWEST volleyball
Friday night is Spike Night in the PACWEST with a pair of women’s matches with schools that start with the letter “C.”
COTR Avalanche @ Capilano Blues – Friday January 27. 6:00pm | WATCH HERE
The Avalanche will play their second match in as many days after falling 3-1 to the Douglas Royals on Thursday night. It was their seventh loss in a row and they haven’t won since they beat Capilano on November 19th. As a matter of fact in that weekend series with the Blues in November, the Avalanche won both matches and swept the weekend.
The Blues have dropped their last three matches but did push the VIU Mariners to a fifth set last weekend. They are chasing the Avalanche in the standings for the final playoff spot but need to make-up some ground in a hurry, trailing by eight points.

CBC Bearcats @ Camosun Chargers – Friday January 27. 6:00pm | WATCH HERE
These two programs will meet for the third and fourth time this weekend after the Chargers swept the Bearcats in Abbotsford back in October. They swept the first match, then won the next day in four sets.
The Chargers have won six of their last seven matches and are tied for the second spot in the standings with the Douglas Royals, but they have a match in hand. They have clinched a playoff spot, but are playing for positioning the rest of the way.
Meanwhile the Bearcats need to string a few wins together if they have any hope to make the PACWEST post-season. They have lost two straight and are eight points out of the final playoff spot.
