PACWEST Best in Class - Grace McGillivray
Second year women's volleyball student athlete talks about the academic side at Douglas College
In just her first season with the Douglas Royals, rookie Grace McGillivray proved she is an important piece to her team’s success.
During the 2019-2020 season the Langley native played in 50 sets, collecting 80 kills including 15 in one match against the Camosun Chargers on February 1st. She also tallied 11 service aces, 42 digs and nine blocks. The Royals finished third that season with 26 points and hosted the PACWEST championship tournament.
Off the floor McGillivray is enrolled in the General Studies program at Douglas College for the flexibility still trying to pinpoint her career path. She loves the environment at Douglas with the smaller class sizes and seems to be leaning towards the nursing program next year.
She is highlighted in the PACWEST’s Best in Class, a feature focused on the student athletes across the Conference that are leaving their mark on athletics and academics.
