PACWEST Best In Class - Katie Wayling
The quarterback of the Camosun Chargers offence is setter Katie Wayling
Throughout the 2018-2019 season it was quite easy to see the Camosun Chargers offence only went as far as Katie Wayling could take it. She was the quarterback of the offensive punch as the starting setter who collected 668 assists during the regular season.
Along with her outstanding court vision she added 130 digs, 28 kills, 36 service aces and had nine blocks. All this and she even missed a pair of matches at the end of January.
Despite taking a few years off Wayling looks extremely comfortable as the starting setter just finishing her third season. At Camosun she is a very active person and was looking for exercise and health to study when deciding on what post-secondary intuition to attend; Camosun fit the bill.
She is highlighted in the PACWEST's “Best In Class,” a feature focused on the student athletes across the Conference that are leaving their mark on athletics and academics.
