Volleyball's Best In Week 5

The PACWEST is pleased to announce the Week 5 Volleyball Athletes of the Week as a pair of Chargers are honoured.

Mika Yamada – Camosun Chargers

Camosun Chargers’ fans have come to expect thrilling play from Mika Yamada and last weekend's showdown with the COTR Avalanche was no exception. She tallied 25 kills over the two contests and was Camosun's top scorer. She also racked up five aces, with many critical serves coming at the end of tight sets. She displayed her diverse skill set by collecting 22 digs as well.

Brandan Folkerts – Camosun Chargers

Brandan Folkerts had a breakout performance as the Chargers swept the COTR Avalanche in their home PISE gym this weekend. Pushed to the limit by a determined COTR squad on Saturday, he rose to the challenge with solid execution in every facet of the game to lead his Island team mates to victory in the fifth set on Friday. He built on that on Sunday and his 17 kills, one ace, one block point and six digs over four sets was a testament to his confidence and capability.
