Friday Recap:
UFV Cascades 3 – 18-25, 30-28, 25-22 25-23
Capilano Blues 1
The Cascades took care of their home court with a four set victory on Friday night over the Blues. Offensively Kristen McBride led the way with 17 kills and 17 digs and Amanda Matsui chipped in with 13 kills and 12 digs.
On the other hand the Blues offence was led by Eva Nagata who collected 11 kills and 13 digs. Meanwhile Meghan Koven tallied nine kills and 14 digs while setter Kelsey Towers had 31 assists and 11 digs.
VIU Mariners 3 – 25-11, 25-14, 25-15
COTR Avalanche 0
The Mariners are the first PACWEST team to 10 wins after a three set sweep of the visiting Avalanche. Danielle Groenendijk led the offensive charge with 11 kills and Karoline Tormena added five.
The visiting Avalanche struggled to score points on Friday night. Megan Clark did have seven kills and six digs.
Douglas Royals 3 – 25-12, 25-21, 25-13
CBC Bearcats 0
The Royals made quick work of the Bearcats on Friday night with 34 team kills led by Grace Warkentin with eight and Emma Schill had seven. Setter Jayce Day ran a solid offence with 25 assists in the win.
Meanwhile the Bearcats offence saw Janae Bruinsma had a team high six kills and 10 digs.
Saturday Recap:
Camosun Chargers 3 – 25-18, 25-22, 25-27, 25-21
COTR Avalanche 1
Offensively the Chargers won their fifth of the season led by Mika Yamada who had 14 kills and 17 digs along with three service aces. Hannah May chipped in with nine kills and a pair of digs and setter Katie Wayling collected 31 assists.
The Avalanche kept things close but fell short in the four sets. Ecaterina Arabadji tallied 10 kills and 10 digs and Taylor Whittall also tallied nine kills.
These two schools will meet again on Sunday when the Chargers (5-3) host the Avalanche (4-7) at 11:00am WATCH HERE
Capilano Blues 3 – 23-25, 25-19, 25-20, 25-23
UFV Cascades 1
After falling on Friday night the Blues bounced back on Saturday with a four set victory over the Cascades. Meghan Koven led the way with 16 kills and Eva Nagata added eight. Setter Kelsey Towers did an excellent job distributing the ball with 35 assists.
The Cascades offence sputtered compared to the night before. Amanda Matsui added eight more kills to her season totals and Ashley Huberts tallied six.
