In a battle of two struggling team, the Douglas Royals entered the evening on a 4 match losing streak while the host CBC Bearcats are on a 3 match losing streak of their own. One team tonight will break that streak.
Both teams competed well Friday night but the host CBC squad were determined to end their losing streak. The Cats would defeat the Royals 3-0 with set scores of 25-20, 27-25, 25-23.
It was a "great night for our young team as we were able to execute our game plan and play our most consistent match of the season" stated Cats Head Coach Duncan Harrison. A good night's rest and a quick turnaround have both teams playing again Saturday afternoon.
CBC's Becky Garner had 12 kills, 15 digs and 2 aces in the win while the Royals' Courtney Wilson tallied 10 kills, 2 aces and 2 digs.
