Women's Playoff Bracket Set
The regular season has ended for PACWEST women's soccer
The PACWEST women’s soccer playoffs came into focus this past weekend as the regular season wrapped up.
SATURDAY
VIU Mariners 3
Capilano Blues 0
The Mariners got on the board early after a goal from Mya Creed on a beautiful header off a corner kick in the ninth minute. The play was picture perfect and would stand up as the game winner.
In the 54th minute the Mariners added some insurance when al crossing pass went off the head of a Mariner, then ricocheted off a Capilano defender and into the yawning cage. Then in the 80th minute Jade Dillabough found the back of the net to put the game out of reach for the home side.
The Mariners defence was so solid that keeper Kaiden Thorpe didn’t need to make a save in the shutout.
Douglas Royals 1
Langara Falcons 1
Due to the storm passing through the area on Saturday the Falcons table staff was unable to take statistics from the game. They will be made available at a later date.
SUNDAY

Douglas Royals 1
Langara Falcons 0
With the regular season in the books the PACWEST playoffs are set. The Mariners are the #1 seed and receive a bye directly into the gold medal game on October 27th. The Douglas Royals are the second seed and will meet the third seeded Capilano Blues in Saturday’s semi-final at 12:00pm.
