Women's Soccer Week 5 Preview

It’s Week 5 of the PACWEST soccer season with only four games to go in the campaign.

SATURDAY

VIU Mariners @ Langara Falcons – Saturday October 5, 1:00pm | WATCH HERE

As we have turned the calendar to October, the Mariners remain red hot this season and are unbeaten heading into this weekend.  They haven’t allowed a goal in three games and last faced the Falcons two weeks ago beating them 2-0.

The Falcons are coming off a draw last week but haven’t won since September 21^st. 

The Mariners have won all three meetings this season and have outscored the Falcons 9-1.

Capilano Blues @ Douglas Royals – Saturday October 5, 1:00pm | WATCH HERE

It’s the last time these two schools meet in the regular season with just four points separating them in the standings.  

The Royals are coming off two straight losses with their last win coming two weeks ago at Capilano.  In three of their last four games they have been shutout so they are looking for some offence with the playoffs on the horizon.

On the other side the Blues haven’t lost since that game against the Royals.  They are coming off a draw and a win last weekend but are trying to find some consistency down the stretch. 

This game is a potential playoff matchup.

SUNDAY

VIU Mariners @ Douglas Royals – Sunday October 6, 12:00pm | WATCH HERE

It’s the final meeting of the regular season between these two schools when the Mariners visit the Royals. 

Last weekend the Mariners earned a pair of 1-0 shutouts over the Royals in Nanaimo with keeper Kaiden Thorpe backstopping her club and was named the Athlete of the Week.   The Mariners are currently winning the seasonal seasons 2-0-1.

Langara Falcons @ Capilano Blues – Sunday October 6, 12:00pm | WATCH HERE

This will be the last time these two meet in the regular season as the Blues host the Falcons.  Its also the last Blues home game and they will play at their Squamish campus turf field, the same spot where they will host the national championship next month.
