The Blues scored a pair of first half goals to clinch second place in the PACWEST standings and will face these very same Royals in the semi-final this coming Saturday.
In the ninth minute Aynsley Hurtado scored the eventual game winner on a pass from Jacqueline Reinhard. They would ice it in the 14th minute when Alanah Dulong scored as Julia Peyton picked up an assist.
From there keeper Megan Thitchener needed just one save for the shutout.
Looking at the Royals roster they decided to sit some of their offensive weapons in hopes of getting them ready for this coming weekend’s PACWEST championship tournament.
The Blues and Royals will square off again with the winner meeting the VIU Mariners in the PACWESET gold medal game.

The Mariners scored all three goals in the first half to close out the regular season with a shutout.
Mya Creed opened the scoring very early, getting the eventual winning goal just 1:48 into the contest. Jade Dillabough added to the lead just before the five-minute mark to give the home side a two-goal advantage. Dillabough would tally her second of the game in the 23rd minute off a pass from Abby Duncan and put the game out of reach.
That is all keeper Melanie Osborne would need making three saves for the shutout.
The Mariners will play for PACWEST gold on Sunday and will face the winner of the Capilano Blues – Douglas Royals semi-final the day before.
