Langara Falcons @ Douglas Royals – Sunday October 2, 12:00pm – Cunnings Field | WATCH HERE
For the second straight Sunday the Royals and Falcons will battle, but this time in Coquitlam. Last Sunday the Royals shutout the Falcons 1-0 as Haylee Rogers scored the lone goal. Anesha Biln made three saves in the victory.
On Saturday the Royals tallied a 3-1 win over the VIU Mariners in an exciting game. The Royals defence was outstanding not allowing the Mariners much of an opportunity to generate an offensive push. Their offence scored all three goals in the first half with Christine Singh accounting for two of them and Taylor Spong added the other. Biln was solid in net allowing just one goal.
The win creates log jam at the top of the standings with the Royals, Mariners and Blues each with 13 points and identical 4-2-1 records.
The Falcons didn’t play on Saturday after they faced the Capilano Blues back on Wednesday, losing 2-1. Ayanah Hassan scored their lone goal. It’s the final time this season they will play the Royals and are 0-1-1 in the previous two meetings.
