For the final time this season the Falcons and Royals will meet at Swangard Stadium
Douglas Royals (4-1-1) @ Langara Falcons (0-5-1) – Saturday October 16, 1:00pm – Swangard Stadium | WATCH HERE
It’s the final meeting of the season between the Royals and Falcons. In the first two meetings this year the Royals have outscored the Falcons 7-1 with seven different goal scorers and Tess Venables recorded a shutout.
Coming into today the Royals are in a first place tie with the Capilano Blues who have had their game postponed because of wet conditions at Lillooet Field in North Vancouver. The Blues will now have two games in hand on the Royals as both teams currently have four wins. Offensively the Royals have been led by Amanda Hila who has three goals in the first six games, none of which against the Falcons.
Speaking of the Falcons, their offence has struggled to get off the ground this season scoring just four times while allowing 19 goals. One of those four however have come against the Royals when Cassidy Kwan scored the first goal of the PACWEST season back in Week 1. Despite their record the Falcons are still very much alive in the playoff hunt with three games to play. They find themselves just three points back of the VIU Mariners for the final playoff spot.
VIU Mariners (1-3-1) @ Capilano Blues (4-0-1) – Saturday October 16 – POSTPONED
The city of North Vancouver has closed all soccer fields with a natural grass surface which includes Lillooet Field. The game will be made up at a later date.
