Week 6 of the women's PACWEST soccer season is in the books

The Blues defence was stifling as keeper Nikki Gerbrandt made just one save and earned her second shutout of the 2018 season.
Offensively the Blues used two goals in the first half on route to the victory. Brooklynn Doucette tallied her fourth of the season in the 14th minute to open the scoring. It was a goal that turned out to be the game winner. Then in the 32nd minute Jaimi MacCara tallied her first of the season giving the Blues a bit more breathing room and a two goal advantage. Catrina Olstrom finished off the scoring in the 65th minute netting her fourth of the season.
VIU Mariners 2
Douglas Royals 2
The Mariners came out flying on Saturday peppering the Royals keeper Alexa Gazzola. They created five shots on the net in the first half and Chloe Gummer gave them a lead in the 12th minute scoring her fourth of the season.
Just before halftime the Royals finally generated some offence and Emma Thomas scored her third of the campaign in the 41st minute knotting the score at one.
In the second half the Mariners regained the lead in the 69th minute when Japanese player Natsu Yayama scored her first of the season.
With time ticking away the Royals found their stride and were able to tie the game in the 86th minute when Mikaela Montagano scored her first of the season.
Gazzola ended the game with six saves while Melanie Osborne of the Mariners faced only three shots, making one save.

VIU Mariners 3
Langara Falcons 0
For the second straight game the Falcons offence sputtered and were shutout generating five shots on the goal.
Chloe Gummer opened the scoring in the 30th minute, which turned out to be the game winner. Just six minutes later she scored again, her sixth of the season, giving the Mariners a two goal lead.
Late in the second half Kate Reynolds found the back of the net for the first time this year, capping off the Mariners victory.
Keeper Melanie Osborne made five saves in the victory and records her first shutout.

It was all Royals on Sunday as keeper Alexa Gazzola made four saves for her third shutout of the season.
The offence struck in the 29th minute when Sneha Sandhu scored her first of the season; a goal that would hold up as the game winner. The Royals added to their first half lead when Mikaela Montagano tallied her second in as many days.
The Royals then put the game out of reach just after halftime when Sam Kell scored her second of the year in the 47th minute.
The Blues did generate three shots in the second half, but Gazzola was there to slam the door.
