Elissa Vreugdenhil is the Female Athlete of the Year Across All-Sports
The PACWEST is pleased to announce the Female Athlete of the Year Across All-Sports award winner following the 2024-2025 season.
For the second consecutive year, Elissa Vreugdenhil of the CBC Bearcats women’s basketball team is honoured after an incredible season in which she guided her team to their first national championship banner!
During the regular season she led her team to a school best 19-3 overall record and averaged just over 15 points game, shooing 43% from the field. She also averaged a Conference high 12.9 rebounds a game and two and a half assists. Once she got the ball under the net, it was very difficult to stop her.
After capturing a wildcard berth into the CCAA national championship, she continued her dominating performance each game in New Brunswick. She averaged a double double of 16 points and 12 rebounds shooting 45% from the field and 54% from the free throw line and was named the championship tournament’s Most Valuable Player.
Following the regular season, she was named the PACWEST Player of the Year and a First Team All-Star. She was named the Player of the Game in the Bearcats first ever playoff win, a semi-final victory during the PACWEST championship tournament.
Last year she became the first ever CBC Bearcat to be honoured with this very award and now she is a back-to-back recipient. Congratulations Elissa!
