It was an incredible and history making season for Elissa Vreugdenhil and the CBC Bearcats who won their first ever national championship this past weekend.

Vreugdenhil was named the championship tournament MVP, averaging a double-double and scoring 19 points in the gold medal game pacing her team to the national crown.

Outside the basketball court she is a firefighter and as a first responder does incredible work helping her community.

Now back in BC, she talks with Ryan Watters to recap the tournament.
