Women's Basketball Weekend Sweeps
The Mariners, Bearcats and Royals each win

The Mariners captured their 19th win of the season on Saturday collecting a weekend sweep over the visiting Blues pulling away in the fourth quarter.
In that final frame the Mariners outscored the Blues 25-5, seemingly getting stronger as the game went along. Overall, they shot 36% from the field with Harriette Mackenzie playing another major factor leading all scorers with 24 points and pulled down 14 rebounds.
The Blues countered shooting 35% from the field but only had four points from their bench all game long. Madeleine Coffin played well, dropping in 17 points to lead her team and Barcha Hnizdilova had a double double of 10 points and 10 boards.
Next weekend the Mariners (19-1) will enjoy a bye week and the Blues (7-13) visit the Okanagan Coyotes (3-17).

The Bearcats tallied their second straight lopsided score over the hometown Coyotes on Saturday afternoon shooting 37% from the field.
Offensively guard Kagari Tomita had a double double of 10 points and 12 assists and Elissa Vreugdenhil collected 11 points and 14 boards. Both Madeline Beerwald and AJ Sobotta and a team high 14 points.
Their defence held the Coyotes to 23% shooting in the win. Chloe Hunter had a solid game for the home side draining 15-points to lead all scorers. Faith Hunter finished with a double double of 12 assists and 10 rebounds.
Next week the Bearcats (17-3) open Week 13 at home on Thursday when the welcome the Douglas Royals (15-5) and the Coyotes (3-17) entertain the Capilano Blues (7-13) beginning on Friday in Kelowna.

Camosun Chargers 50
The Royals earned the weekend sweep, setting the tone early outscoring the hometown Chargers 18-8 in the opening quarter.
Throughout the game the Royals hit 38% of their shots getting production from up and down their lineup. Mackenzie Dalphond was very good with 16 points and 11 rebounds and Lauren Clements added 11.
The Chargers didn’t have many good looks this game shooting 27% on the offensive end. Kanda Diop led their offensive push back with 13 points and she snagged 18 rebounds.
Next week the Royals (15-5) will play at CBC on Thursday and Saturday to face the Bearcats (17-3) and the Chargers will play their final home games when they host the Langara Falcons (7-13).
