Royals Win Final Game
The Douglas Royals recorded a win in their final game of the year
The Douglas Royals wrapped up their season with an impressive 83-56 victory over the Okanagan Coyotes in the CCAA Placement Game on Friday.
Much like the PACWEST gold medal game, the Royals used stiff defence to force the Coyotes into making bad decisions with the ball. They turned it over 26 times and the Royals made 16 steals showing their defensive prowess.
On the offensive side the Royals got production from everyone on their roster led by Mackenzie Dalphond and her 13 points. Both Karishma Rai and Laini Glover chipped in with 12 points each and Sharlene Siy added 10.
The Coyotes had a tough time offensively shooting just 26% and they were 7-33 from the three-point line. Ali Martineau in her final game scored a game high 17 points and Elizabeth Henne wrapped up her collegiate career with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Both will reflect on their national championship experience before preparing for next season. Good luck to the student athletes in their final exams.
