Women's Basketball Week 15 Preview
Playoff position on the line this weekend
Capilano Blues @ CBC Bearcats – Friday February 16, 6:00pm | WATCH HERE
This is an exciting match-up with only four points separating them in the standings for second place.
The Blues do have two games in hand, so a win on Friday would clinch second place and a first-round bye into the semifinals when the playoffs roll around in three weeks.
After a hot start to the second semester, the Blues have cooled off and have won once in their last four games. They are on the road for their final four games of the regular season visiting CBC this weekend, then Camosun to wrap up the schedule, before heading to the Okanagan for the championship tournament. In their meeting back in November with the Bearcats the Blues won both games winning 76-66 and 67-47. They will look to build upon that as they look to peak at the right time heading into the postseason.
This weekend is the final regular season games for the Bearcats who have guaranteed themselves a playoff spot and will not have a losing record this season. With 12 wins they have already set a new school record for wins in a single season and are looking for more at home against a very tough Blues team.
Like the Blues the Bearcats have won once over the course of their last four games, all of which were on the road. If they can sweep the Blues, they would move into a second place tie and cause a logjam at the top of the standings.

VIU Mariners @ Camosun Chargers – Friday February 16, 6:00pm | WATCH HERE
The top ranked Mariners play their final four games on the road this season beginning on Friday night at Camosun. They are coming off a bye weekend and have won four in a row and are an impressive 6-2 on the road. They swept the Chargers in November winning 69-49 and 69-52.
They have already wrapped up first-place and have a berth into the semi-finals when the PACWEST championship opens on February 29th in Kelowna.
The Chargers have clinched a playoff spot and know that they will have a tough quarterfinal match-up in three weeks when the postseason opens. They currently sit in fifth with four games remaining as they host the Mariners, then welcome the Capilano Blues to end the season. They have lost two of their last three games, coming after a four-game winning streak.

Langara Falcons @ Okanagan Coyotes – Friday February 16, 6:00pm | WATCH HERE
This is a massive weekend for both schools and should determine the final playoff position. The Coyotes currently have that locked down and are four points up on the Falcons with four games to go.
The Coyotes, who are hosting the PACWEST championship, would clinch the final playoff spot with a weekend sweep. They have won two of their last three games, both victories coming in overtime and split with the Falcons at Langara in November losing 76-57, then coming back to win 73-53 the next day.
Meanwhile, the Falcons snapped their 10-game losing streak last weekend with a 57-54 win over the Chargers. That losing skid actually began when they lost by 20 to the Coyotes in November. They need a good showing this weekend to keep their playoff hopes alive.
