This will be the final meeting of the season between the top two teams in the Conference when the Blues host the Mariners.
Friday night lived up to the first place showdown billing as the Blues took out the Mariners in overtime with an 85-75 win. Kirsten Abo had a chance to win it in the final seconds of regulation, but her floater rimmed out pushing the game into the extra session. The Blues caught fire in overtime outscoring the Mariners 17-7 to nail down their 12th win of the season.
Overall, the Blues shot 43% with Abo putting together a massive game of 40 points. That is the largest single game outpouring of points across the PACWEST in either gender this season. She connected on seven-three pointers along the way. Ida Jonsson Ojala added 18 and Meagan Briggs pulled down 12 rebounds.
Courtney Buckley tried to go toe-to-toe with Abo as she led the Mariners with 30 points which included four-three pointers. Harriette Mackenzie had another solid game finishing with 16 points and 14 rebounds. Rankia Guyton chipped in with 16 points as her club shot 36% from the field.
Saturday afternoon the Blues are looking for a seasonal series sweep while the Mariners are looking to pull even in the standings again.

Friday night the Chargers snapped their four game skid with a 66-41 victory over the Bearcats shooting 30%. Rhiannon Ware dropped 19 points to lead her club and Tegan Michel added 17.
Defensively they were solid, which led to transitions as they forced 28 turnovers and made 19 steals.
The Bearcats found it difficult to solve the Chargers defence with very few easy buckets. They shot 27% with Ashyana Kumar leading the way with 15 points. Sam Leyenhorst was excellent in the ballgame with 10 points and 14 rebounds.
Saturday afternoon will be the seasonal series finale between these two programs. The Chargers are looking for a series sweep, while the Bearcats are hoping to play spoiler in Victoria.
