It was a tail of two halves for the PACWEST champion Okanagan Coyotes as they fell in their quarterfinal battle with the ACAA champion MSVU Mystics on Friday 64-61. They would fall behind early with several turnovers not being able to handle the quick defence of the Mystics. However, they fought back outscoring their opponents 24-19 in the final quarter but came up short. Soleil Wilding and Jordan Kemper paced the offence each with 15 points and Natasha Alfonso was named the Player of the Game with 10 points and 14 rebounds. With the loss they move to the bronze medal side of the bracket.
The Coyotes will meet the Ch. Saint-Lambert Cavaliers for the first time in franchise history. The Cavaliers suffered a 67-55 loss on Friday getting outscored in three of the four quarters. Incredibly the took 83 shots in the quarterfinal but shot just 22.9% from the field and 13% from behind the three-point arch.
