In a back and forth game the Falcons scored 19 points in the fourth quarter to hold onto the victory.
Offensively the Falcons had balanced scoring as eight of their nine players hit the scoresheet. Jules Duong and Ainsliegh Mensah each scored 12 points and Alexa Leynes chipped in with eight.
The new look Royals shot 26% from the field and were led by their lone returning starter Rachel Beauchamp. She was 10 of 20 from the field, scoring 27 points and grabbing 22 boards.
Saturday night the Falcons (1-0) will host the Capilano Blues (1-0) and the Royals (0-1) welcome the CBC Bearcats (0-1).

Okanagan Coyotes 61
The Chargers opened their 25th season and used a 24 point second quarter to lead the home side to a victory while the Coyotes were playing in their first ever PACWEST game.
On the offensive side the Chargers shot 46% from the field and 42% from downtown. Jasmine de Vries had a massive game with 24 points and 11 rebounds. Tessa Lannon-Paakspuu scored 13 and Aiden Kilcommons dropped 11.
The Coyotes had balanced scoring as 10 of the 11 players of the roster scored at least a basket. Megan Admussen-Blair dropped in 15 points while Deziree Day had 11.
Saturday night the Chargers (1-1) will rest while the Coyotes (0-1) visit the VIU Mariners (1-0).

CBC Bearcats 44
The Blues shot an incredible 64.7% from the field and 53% from behind the arch. Veteran Sherrie Errico came off the bench for a game high 24 points and Alessia Brutto knocked down 14 points.
The Bearcats meanwhile shot 33% in their loss with just seven active players. Veteran Harvina Kaler led the way with 18 points.
Saturday the Blues (1-0) will visit the Langara Falcons (1-0) and the Bearcats (0-1) will travel to Douglas to take on the Royals (0-1).
