Marvin Tumusiime – Douglas Royals

The Douglas Royals won PACWEST gold for the first time since 2014 over the weekend with a pair of thrilling victories.  Friday night they came back from down 2-1 to beat the host VIU Mariners in five exciting sets, before taking out the top seeded COTR Avalanche in four sets on Saturday night to win the title.  Both match wins were considered upsets as the Royals came into the playoffs as the third seed.  Marvin Tumusiime was a massive presence for the Royals finishing with 39 kills and hitting percentage of 31%, he had five blocks, 15 digs and two service aces to help his club win gold.
