PACWEST Best in Class - Enis Besirevic
A business student athlete in his second season with the defending national champion Capilano Blues
In just his rookie season with the Capilano Blues, Enis Besirevic became a major factor in the middle helping this school to their first ever CCAA national championship.
The Australian was a key cog in the Blues offence with 114 kills and nine aces. On the defensive side he tallied 18 blocks and 20 digs while patrolling the middle.
During the PACWEST championship tournament Bensirevic was outstanding and in their unbelievable comeback, five set win in the gold medal match he played an important piece. He was on the floor in all five sets, crushed 10 kills, had four massive blocks and was on the floor at the front of the net when the Blues claimed PACWEST gold. In 13 playoff sets, he compiled 24 kills including another 10 in their five set semi-final victory over the defending champion VIU Mariners.
In the classroom Bensirevic is currently in his second year of Business trying to maneuver online classes over zoom during the pandemic. He is highlighted in the PACWEST’s Best in Class, a feature focused on the student athletes across the Conference that are leaving their mark on athletics and academics.
