Heading into the last match of the regular season, and the COTR Avs already securing a playoff spot. It was an opportunitiy for head coach Swanson to change up his lineup.
"On Saturday, I again wanted to play some players who have not had a lot of opportunity to play. VIU came out very strong and they played very well." commented Swanson.
It was solid performance from both team but the Mariners prevailed as they took the match 3-0 to split the weekend series. VIU return to the Island to face the Camosun Chargers in a home and home series net weekend while the Avs sit idle waiting for the playoffs to start in a few weeks
