Kicking Off Week 2

PACWEST soccer returns on Saturday as all four teams open Week 2 of the regular season after each team claimed a win last weekend to begin the season.

SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 14

Capilano Blues @ Langara Falcons – Saturday September 14, 2:30pm | WATCH HERE

Both teams earned a weekend split and are coming off a road game as Week 2 of the men’s schedule kicks-off.  The Falcons dismantled the VIU Mariners in their last game on the island beating them 5-0 for their first win of the season.  The Blues surprised everyone but themselves opening the season last week with a 1-0 win over the defending national champions.  Both teams are looking to score early to gain some momentum.

VIU Mariners @ Douglas Royals – Saturday September 14, 3:30pm | WATCH HERE

This was the match-up last season for PACWEST gold with the Royals coming out on top before both attended the national championship in Ontario.  Last weekend the young Mariners split their opening weekend with Langara and are looking to rebound after losing by five goals in the second meeting. The Royals offence woke up in their home opener last Sunday and beat the visiting Capilano Blues 4-2.  The Royals are laced with veterans while the Mariners are a relatively new squad with several rookies.

SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 15

Douglas Royals @ Langara Falcons – Sunday September 15, 2:30pm | WATCH HERE

This game could set the tone for the rest of the season as the Falcons host the Royals.   Both teams are coming off a hard-fought battle on Saturday.  Last year the Royals won the seasonal series 3-1, the Falcons won the last game 3-0.

VIU Mariners @ Capilano Blues – Sunday September 15, 2:30pm | WATCH HERE

The Mariners and Blues will tilt the scales for the first time this season after coming off an intense game on Saturday.  The Mariners play their second straight road game, while the Blues are back at home after their upset win over Douglas to open the season last weekend.
