For the second consecutive Sunday the Falcons and Royals will duke it out as Week 4 of the PACWEST soccer season comes to a close. Last Sunday the Royals handed the Falcons their only loss in a 3-2 game. They got second half goals from Zachari Ouariti-Zerouali in the 61st minute and Riku Suga scored the game winner in the 85th minute while keeper Jacob McCall made three saves in the win.
On Saturday the Royals finished with their fourth tie of the season, a 2-2 game with the visiting VIU Mariners. It was the Royals who commanded the first half scoring both their goals off the feet of Ouariti-Zerouali and Rozmehr Aghabaygy. However, they couldn’t hold the lead as the Mariners came back with two of their own in the second half against rookie keeper Matthew Miller.
The Falcons didn’t play on Saturday after their 2-0 win over the Capilano Blues on Wednesday night. If they aren’t familiar enough with the Royals yet, they will be as they face them on Sunday, then again on Wednesday night in their final meeting of the regular season.

It’s the last time these two schools will meet in the regular season. The Mariners have won twice in the seasonal series while the other game finished in a 1-1 tie.
Last Sunday the Mariners left Capilano with a 3-2 victory scoring three consecutive goals with Vasilis Bagiopoulos’ second of the game holding up to be the game winner.
On Saturday the Mariners came back to finish in a 2-2 tie at Douglas. They were down 2-0 at halftime before rallying with goals from Bagiopoulos and Matthew Coburn to earn a point in the tie.
The Blues didn’t see action on Saturday after playing at Langara on Wednesday night and falling 2-0. They have not recorded a point in two straight games and are still looking for their first win of the season. Last weekend against the Mariners Adam Majuerae and Luca Martinelli each scored second half goals, but it was too little too late as they lost 3-2.
