WOMEN

The Mariners will stay at home on Sunday for their fourth consecutive home game when they face the Blues in a rematch of the 2019 PACWEST gold medal game. The Mariners suffered their first loss of the season on Saturday falling 1-0 to the visiting Douglas Royals.
The Blues meanwhile blanked the Langara Falcons on Saturday 2-0 thanks to first half goals from Aynsley Hurtado and Taylor Colby. Keeper Sabrina Lam wasn’t tested much and claimed her first shutout of the season.

Following their massive 1-0 shutout on Saturday at VIU, the Royals are set to host the Falcons. This will be the second meeting of the season between these two schools.
Eight days ago the Royals beat the Falcons 4-1 in the opener using four different goal scorers. Keeper Elisha Machado picked up the win.
The Falcons offence has sputtered getting shutout in the last two games including a 2-0 loss at Capilano on Saturday. Their only goal of the season so far came against the Royals in the home opener.

Both the Marines and Blues are coming off a win on Saturday and are 2-0 heading into this match-up, which is the first of the season.
On Saturday the Mariners held off the Douglas Royals 3-2, while the Blues beat the Langara Falcons 3-1. Jeremy Monn-Djasngar scored twice for the Blues and Nima Moazeni Zaden tallied his third of the season.

These two schools match-up for the second time this season after the Falcons took down the defending champs 2-1 in last weekend’s opener. They are also both coming off a loss on Saturday.
The Royals’ late surge fell short at VIU on Saturday 3-2 while the Falcons got a goal from Henrique Claros but fell short at Capilano 3-1.
It is still early but the Royals, the defending champs, are still winless through their first three games of the year.
