Road Warriors on Saturday
The Blues, Falcons and Royals each win to wrap up Week 6
They were the PACWEST road warriors on Saturday earning a tough, hard-fought road win.
Capilano Blues 94
Okanagan Coyotes 87
The Blues came out flying in the third quarter and took the lead and momentum outscoring the Coyotes 29-10 en route to their sixth win and capturing a weekend split.
Each of the five starters scored at least 12 points led by Kash Lang who tallied a game high 32 points on 11-17 shooting and was 50% from the three-point line. Zach Hamed nailed five-threes and finished with 15 points making a noticeable impact offensively. As a club the Blues shot a solid 49% and got to the line 20 times.
The Coyotes played great for three of the four quarters, but that third frame was the difference maker in the loss. They shot 45% and hit 11-threes led by Phil Holmes Jr and his 23 points and 13 rebounds while Noah Steingart added 22 on 6-11 shooting.
Next weekend the Blues (6-4) will host the CBC Bearcats (4-6) for a weekend doubleheader, and the Coyotes (4-6) hit the road to meet the Langara Falcons (4-6).

Camosun Chargers 66
The visiting Falcons rode a 28-point second quarter and shot 56% from the three-point line earning a weekend split on the road.
Both Patrick Robinson and Edrielle Asirit dropped in 18 points, Robinson nailing four-three pointers in the contest. As a team the Falcons had balanced scoring with eight different players collecting points and James Zongo was a spark off the bench adding 13.
The Chargers live and die by the three-pointer and Saturday they struggled finishing 8-34 from long range aiding to the setback. David Finch led all scorers with 19 points and Cormick Brown chipped in with 14, hitting four shots from the three-point arch. They also left a lot of points at the line ending the game at 57% from the free-throw stripe.
Next weekend the Falcons (4-6) welcome the Okanagan Coyotes (4-6) and the Chargers (7-3) meet the VIU Mariners (8-2) in a battle for first place before the semester break.

CBC Bearcats 70
The Bearcats carried a two-point lead into the final frame on Saturday until the Royals exploded, outscoring the home side 24-9 in the quarter to secure the 13-point win.
In the gutsy road victory, the Royals shot 37% from the field led by Derrick Monroe and his 19 points and 11 rebounds. Jesse Connoly was a great spark off the bench, dropping 17 points and Lorenzo Bonamin finished with a double-double of 10 points and 14 rebounds.
The Bearcats let this one slip away as their shooters went ice cold in the fourth quarter and finished the game shooting 33% and were 9-32 from downtown. Daylen Webb had a game high 22 points and 10 rebounds and Dane-Dre Anglin added 20 and 10 in the loss shooting 50%.
With the win the Royals (3-9) build some confidence as they head into the semester break and won’t be on the floor until January 9th. The Bearcats meanwhile (4-6) will visit the Capilano Blues (6-4) next weekend to wrap up the first semester.
