The hometown Blues pulled away saving their best for the last quarter outscoring the Chargers 25-15 en route to their home opener win.
Offensively the Blues shot 41% and knocked down 14- three pointers with four of the five starters finishing with double figures. Zach Hamed was the sharpshooter from the outside hitting seven-three pointers and finishing with a game high 25 points. Kash Lang chipped in with 19 points and Peter Li drained five-threes and added 17 points in the victory.
The Chargers stayed close until the fourth quarter shooting 39%. David Finch was their high scorer with 18 points, missing a double-double by one rebound.
Saturday afternoon at 3:00pm they will play the second half of the weekend doubleheader. WATCH HERE
Okanagan Coyotes 62
Dougals Royals 59
Ryan Dekleva connected on his only three pointer of the game with six seconds left in regulation to propel the Coyotes to their first win of the season. He and the Coyotes came all the way back in the final frame outscoring the Royals 26-19 to secure the win.
As a club they shot 33% with their starters scoring all but six points. Phil Holmes Jr. finished with 25 points and Noah Steingart drained 15. Dekleva ended with seven points but had the most impactful three points with six seconds left.
The Royals let this one slip away leading 40-36 heading into the last quarter. They didn’t shoot the ball very well at 29% and Derrick Monroe was the only player in double figures with 19.

The Mariners have opened the season with four straight wins and have hit the 100-point plateau in each victory. They will play their home opener on Saturday night as they welcome the Falcons who are keeping teams to 73 points so far this season.
The Falcons split last weekend with Douglas and make their first road trip to the island this year. They will be in tough against the talented Mariners team and will need to play a solid defensive game to steal a road win.
