The Mariners, Blues and Bearcats collect a victory as Week 11 comes to a close

In the battle for third place in the standings, the Blues blasted the Falcons on Saturday to recapture sole possession.
Offensively they shot 48% from the field and knocked down an eye-popping 15-three pointers. David Featherston Jr was money from behind the arch, hitting all five of his three-point attempts and finished the ball game with 29 points. Kash Lang hit four from downtown and collected 12 points and Damein Coleman had 12 points and 10 rebounds off the bench.
With the win, they move two points up on the Falcons for third place.
The second quarter appeared to be the undoing for the Falcons getting outscored 31-14, a hole they couldn’t dig out of. They shot 35% offensively with Rohan Sall coming off the bench to lead his club with 16 and Cameron Vaughn chipped in with 15 points.
Next weekend the Blues (10-8) visit the VIU Mariners (19-1) and the Falcons (9-11) enjoy a bye week.

The Mariners collected the weekend sweep after coming out of the gate quickly and beating the Royals in each quarter.
On the offensive side they shot 46% from the field and were led by the hot hands of Kaeleb Johnson and Kameron Bender. Johnson nailed six-three pointers and finished with 25 points while Bender tallied 23 on the strength of four-threes. In all, the Mariners connected on 12-three pointers and shot 40%.
The Royals offence countered with 43% from the field on the offensive side with Scottie Austin leading with 17 points.
Next weekend the Mariners (19-1) look to become the first team to win 20 games when they host the Capilano Blues (10-8) and the Royals (6-12) go to Camosun to meet the Chargers (13-5).

The Bearcats upset the Chargers on Saturday night and recorded a weekend split as they look for a better playoff position.
Offensively the Bearcats made some outstanding second half adjustments and overall shot 36% from the field. They also had balanced scoring, getting production from nine different scorers including Favour Igbinyemi who had a team high 17 points and D’Andre Palmer-Ormsby who added 14, both players off the bench. The victory moves them to within two points of fourth place in the standings.
The Chargers fall for the second time in three games after shooting 37% from the field. David Finch led all scorers with 20 points and Jaime Palamos Molins chipped in with 10.
Next weekend the Bearcats (8-12) visit the Okanagan Coyotes (1-17) and Chargers (13-5) host the Douglas Royals (6-12).
