Blues Season Ends
The Capilano Blues wrapped up play on Friday in the CCAA Placement Game
Keyano Huskies 74
Capilano Blues 64
The PACWEST champion Blues couldn’t climb out of a first quarter hole and dropped the CCAA Placement Game to the Keyano Huskies of the ACAC on Friday afternoon.
The Blues shot 32% from the field, but really only saw any offensive push from Zach Klim who was outstanding dropping a game high 20 points and snagged 11 rebounds and was named the Player of the Game. Outside of Klim’s performance, the Blues shooters struggled to find a rhythm with Kash Lang, the next highest Blues scorer finishing with nine points.
With the loss, the Blues finish winless at the CCAA national championship and end their season. They had an incredible playoff run, winning the PACWEST title in dramatic fashion, beating the second seeded Camosun Chargers in double overtime, before capturing the gold with an upset win over the top seeded VIU Mariners.
The Blues will look forward to next year, gaining valuable experience this season in the PACWEST playoffs and at the nationals in Montreal. Congratulations for a wonderful season.
