Two men's basketball games will see action on Friday night

Friday night tips off a weekend doubleheader between the Mariners and Blues in North Vancouver. There are 10 points that separates these two in the standings with the Mariners taking top spot still undefeated. Meanwhile the Blues are in a three-way tie for second place.
In their only other meeting of the season the Mariners outscored the Blues 21-10 after the first quarter and finished with a lopsided 93-69 win at home in November.
They shot 46% that game with Tori Odom setting the pace with a game high 24 points. Richard Henderson was a beast under the hoop with 18 points and 15 rebounds and Kai Leighton added 14.
The Blues didn’t have the horses to run with the Mariners at that time and shot 34%. CJ Campbell finished with 12 points as did Marko Cosic coming off the bench.

On paper this looks like it should be a blowout as the Chargers have 12 more points in the standings than the Bearcats, but wait a minute!
The Bearcats have no intension of laying down and they no doubt have spoiler on their mind as they visit the Chargers in Victoria this weekend.
In their only other meeting this year the Chargers scored a 10-point win thanks to a strong second half. In all, they shot 39% with Noah Helman coming off the bench for 24 points and 13 rebounds. Takeshi Croke was also a factor with 21 points and 13 boards. The Chargers are coming off a bye weekend after they snapped their three-game losing skid with a win over Capilano. They are currently tied with the Blues for the second spot in the standings.
The Bearcats will no doubt put up a great fight in Victoria this weekend and want to spoil the playoff party. In that loss to the Chargers they shot 40% with Luke Olmstead coming off the bench for an impressive 23 points to lead his club.
