The Mariners, Blues and Royals collect the Dub

The Falcons held the lead for the first three quarters until the Blues stormed back in the fourth outscoring them 34-18 to take a solid road win.
Overall, the Blues shot 41% and nailed seven-three pointers as Tyrone Asenoguan led the charge again with 28 points and David Featherston Jr. added 21. Both CJ Campbell and Josh Dhillon reached the double-digit plateau, scoring 18 points each.
The Falcons played well but couldn’t lock down the win in the final frame. They shot 50% as a team with four of their five starters in double-digits and three of them finishing with double-doubles. Jas Dhudwal led the way with 17 points and 14 rebounds.
Next week the Blues (7-5) host the Mariners (12-0) while the Falcons (5-7) enjoy the bye week.
Douglas Royals 80
Okanagan Coyotes 73
The Royals connected on an incredible 15-three pointers, shooting 39% from downtown on route to their second straight win over the Coyotes.
Jeevan Sidhu tallied 24 points, hitting eight-threes and Ekman Sohal scored 19 and snagged 10 rebounds. It was the Royals’ seventh win of the campaign.
On the other side the Coyotes shot the ball well at 45% led by Hunter Hughes with 16 points and 15 rebounds. Ajay Gill had a nice game off the bench with 17 points thanks to four-three pointers. They have lost two straight and will finally play back at home following their bye week next weekend. They have played seven straight on the road.
The Royals (7-7) will also have a bye next weekend.
VIU Mariners 105
CBC Bearcats 68
The hometown Mariners came out of the gate quickly outscoring the Bearcats 35-13 in the first quarter on their way to the lopsided win. They shot 51% with Tori Odom dominating the guard position with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Akoi Yuot led all scorers with 24 points as the Mariners won their 12th straight game.
The Bearcats did get see a nice game from Jonathan Dillon and his 16 points and 12 rebounds. Mitchell Crosina gave their bench a lift with 15 points on the strength of three-threes.
Next weekend the Mariners (12-0) visit the Capilano Blues (7-5) in a rematch of last year’s gold medal game and the Bearcats (1-11) take on the Chargers (7-5) at Camosun.
